The thing about being a parent of young children is that going away can be such a wrench. They grow up so fast, that even in a couple of days mean you could miss a key moment in their life. And so it was with our growing field at Glastonbury.

If they thought they had avoided Greenpeace’s scrutiny, they were wrong. For the first time, we are checking what’s in the tuna tins in Aldi, Lidl, Ocado, Iceland, Budgens and Booths. They join a growing list of supermarkets we’ve surveyed about the tuna they use in their tins, and how it’s caught.

Result: Jewson takes Amazon timber off the shelves and launches investigation

The timber merchant Jewson - the only high street store where you can buy Amazon timber - has agreed to put all sales on hold while it investigates its suppliers. It's a good start - but we need to keep up the pressure.

Brazil's Federal Prosecutor takes action against criminal loggers

Last month we exposed the scams that loggers in the Brazilian Amazon are using to launder illegal timber. Now the Federal Prosecutor has taken action to stamp out timber laundering.

I'm so happy to hear that the Arctic Sunrise is finally released by Russian authorities after months in custody! That's great news, but she should never have been detained in the first place as she was in international waters during a peaceful protest against Arctic oil drilling when she was seized. <--break->Some of my favourite photos of the ship show her in remote locations in harsh conditions.
