Authors, journalists, poets and playwrights know that every time the right words are put to paper, or typed to a screen, our planet gets a little better. Because, without the right to express ourselves freely, we cannot make that positive change.

Greenpeace doesn’t endorse farmed salmon. There you go, that’s it in black and white. Next time you see someone say we do – feel free to forward a link to this blog-post.

I’m writing this to set the record straight after a few instances of producers and retailers (and even the occasional NGO) wilfully misrepresenting us as having supported, endorsed, or given their salmon farming some sort of ‘best practice award’.

Resolute Forest Products is suing two of my colleagues for exposing its destruction of Canada's Boreal Forest. So this morning ten Greenpeace activists went to its home town to turn an iconic statue into a symbol of resistance.

Resolute Forest Products is the biggest logging company in Canada and the world's largest FSC-certified logger. But on Wednesday, its forest destruction finally caught up with it.

Resolute Forest Products, one of the most destructive logging companies in Canada, is suing my colleagues for $7 million. It thinks this will make them shut up about its destruction of Canada's Boreal Forest. It won't work - and I should know.

President Obama has just said no to the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which was to carry tar sands oil from Alberta to Texas. Despite a fierce lobbying campaign by oil companies and by Canada's Harper government, Obama spiked the pipeline - in part thanks to an unprecedented and global grassroots uprising.
