You could say that all big oil companies are the bad guys of global warming. They have discovered more oil than we can use without causing irreversible damage to the climate, and they continue to search for more.
But Esso (ExxonMobil) gets the prize! Why? Because Esso:
Esso powers the throne of George Bush Esso donated $1,086,080 to George Bush's Republican Party at the start of his election campaign. Unsurprisingly, Bush then did exactly what the oil giants wanted, pulling the United States out of the Kyoto protocol as soon as he was elected!
Summary Our weather is careering out of control. Global warming will bring more floods and chaos to Britain and increasingly extreme storms, drought and disease worldwide. The culprit is pollution from fossil fuels such as oil, coal and gas. It is time to break our dependency on oil - if we don't we will wreck the planet for ourselves and future generations.
The Stop Esso campaign today condemned oil giant Esso for the role it played in ousting Dr Bob Watson, the respected British-born head of the UN panel on climate change.
The Stop Esso campaign is calling on the public not to buy any Esso products until the US based oil company changes their stand on global warming.
Year by year we see more devastating floods, droughts, storms, melting icecaps and dying coral reefs around the world. Global warming is to blame. And UN scientists have agreed that pollution from fossil fuels is the main cause.
ESSO doesn't give a damn about global warming. The biggest oil-company in the world, Esso (Exxon Mobil):

Greenpeace has always fought to defend the atmosphere from industrial pollution.
From the early 1980s, we confronted factories across Europe and North America who were causing acid rain and documented its effects: dead lakes and forests and acid-eroded historic buildings.
Greenpeace also launched an international campaign to halt the depletion of the ozone layer. In 1992 Greenpeace scientists developed Greenfreeze, a refrigeration technology that uses hydrocarbons in place of ozone-eating CFCs and climate-busting HCFCs and HFCs. Greenfreeze was the world's first refrigerator technology which is safe both for the ozone layer and the climate and it has spread like wildfire throughout Western Europe and to other parts of the world.
The majority of the world's carbon pollution comes from oil products like petrol and diesel. We can avoid a runaway greenhouse effect but only if we break our addiction to fossil fuels and make the transition to an economy run on renewable energy and hydrogen.
Fossil fuel use is already changing our climate. The arctic ice cap has already thinned from 10ft to 6ft in the last 20 years as a result of warmer seas. Scientists predict that the entire polar ice cap could disappear every summer within the next 50 years....
When President Bush announced in March 2001 that the US would be pulling out of the Kyoto Treaty, the mark of the fossil fuel industry was all over his policy. One company stands out from the rest as having done more than any other to bring about Bush's climate climb-down. For the last 10 years Esso (ExxonMobil in the US) has been working consistently and systematically to derail any international action to tackle global warming.
At 5.30am this morning, fifty-two Greenpeace volunteers and five 'rogue' tigers shut down Esso's fuel distribution centre at Purfleet, Essex. The volunteers shut down the plant to put pressure on Esso to protect the planet. Esso is the world's number one global warming villain and is behind George Bush's refusal to sign up the US to the Kyoto climate treaty. Purfleet supplies Esso fuels to the South East from Hastings to the Wash.
