Create a cloud account

You can create one or many cloud accounts, one at a time. Every Cloud Snapshot Manager cloud account represents communication with a unique AWS or Azure or Google Cloud Platform account. You can only associate one CSM cloud account with a cloud provider account.

Steps

  1. In the Cloud Accounts page, select one of the following options from the New Cloud Account drop-down list.
    • New AWS Account
    • New Azure Account
    • New Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Account
  2. If you have selected the AWS account option, do the following in the New Cloud Account (AWS) page :
    • Select the IAM Authentication type.
    • Enter all the required details like Display Name, Access Key Id, Access Key, Secret Access Key, and Regions.
    • (Optional) Select Secure DR Account to create an AWS DR account.
    • (Optional) Select Allow Cloud Snapshot Manager to expire snapshots to allow CSM to delete snapshots as per policy in the account.
  3. If you have selected the Azure account option, do the following in the New Cloud Account (Azure) page:
    • Enter all the required details like Display Name, Subscription Id, Active Directory Id, Application Id, Authentication Key, and Regions.
  4. If you have selected the GCP account option, do the following in the New GCP Account page.
    • Enter all the required details like Display Name, Project ID, Client Email, Private Key, and Region.
  5. Click Step by Step Guide in the page and follow the directions to create an AWS or an Azure or a GCP cloud account.
The Step by Step Guide takes you to the procedures located in Configure cloud provider permissions.
NOTE: Select those regions where the resources are available and snapshots can be taken. You can choose only those selected regions on the Resources, Snapshots, Storage, Snapshot Storage, Protection Plan, and CSM Proxy configuration pages. This applies to both AWS and Azure.
