Step Description
To get started, in your Invitation for Cloud Snapshot Manager email, click the link under Accessing Your Portal to enable your entitlements to Cloud Snapshot Manager. After your Cloud Snapshot Manager account has been created and the entitlements added, you must create a cloud account on the Cloud Accounts tab under the Infrastructure tab on the left. Cloud accounts are how you connect Cloud Snapshot Manager to the cloud provider account. For more information about creating a cloud account, see Cloud account management.
The Policies tab guides you in defining a Cloud Snapshot Manager policy. In the policy, you specify the frequency and expiration period for your snapshots. You can also configure cross-account and cross-region copies for supported devices. For more information about creating a Policy, see Configure a snapshot policy.
The Protection Plans tab helps you create a Cloud Snapshot Manager protection plan. In a protection plan, you select the policy that you created earlier, the start date and time, and select the resources to add to the protection plan. Once the protection plan is created, a job is created as soon as the protection plan is executed. For more information about creating a Protection Plan, see Protection Plan enablement.
Once the protection plan is executed, a job is created. You can view a job on the Jobs tab. For more information about Jobs, see Job run status.
You can use the Jobs and Reports tabs to quickly see that status of your jobs and snapshots. It is suggested that you check these tabs regularly to verify that the protection plans are being executed as desired. You can also use the Dashboard tab to get a quick overview of the snapshots, protection plans, and events that have occurred.
