Storage management
Cloud Snapshot Manager enables you to use storage appliances to store snapshots for long term retention and to save on snapshot storage cost.
Currently Cloud Snapshot Manager supports PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition (DDVE) for AWS and Azure environments:
- For information about Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with AWS DDVE, see Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition (AWS).
- For information about Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with Azure DDVE, see Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition (Azure).
- To understand the high level steps required for Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with DDVE, see High level steps for integrating Cloud Snapshot Manager with PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition.
In the Storage page, you can:
- Add a DDVE storage appliance. For more information, see Add PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition (DDVE) storage appliance.
- Add a storage unit. For more information, see Add Storage Units.
NOTE: The DDVE storage appliance must be deployed outside
Cloud Snapshot Manager in your AWS or Azure environment and the storage units must be created in DDVE. For more information, see
PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition on Amazon Web Services Installation and Administration Guide available at
Dell Technologies Online Support. The configuration details are included in
Cloud Snapshot Manager so that
Cloud Snapshot Manager can reference them.
