Activate Cloud Snapshot Manager account

Cloud Snapshot Manager is in all Dell Technologies Data protection software bundles and can get activated with PowerProtect Data Manager license file.

Prerequisites

Download the PowerProtect Data Manager license file from the licensing portal to upload it in Cloud Snapshot Manager and activate your account.

About this task

If you already have a Cloud Snapshot Manager account and want to add capacity or renew your existing account, follow the instructions that are provided below.

Steps

  1. Go to https://console.dell.com/activations.
  2. In the CSM Account Activation page displayed, do the following:
    1. Select PPDM License file and upload the PowerProtect Data Manager license file.
    2. (Conditional) If the PowerProtect Data Manager license file is perpetual, the Service Agreement End Date page is displayed. Enter End Date and click Confirm.
  3. (Conditional) If this is the first time you are activating Cloud Snapshot Manager, select Create Account to activate the entitlement and do the following:
    1. On the Create Account page, type the required information in the Account Name and Description fields.
    2. Click Activate, and then click OK.
    3. In the Confirm Activation dialog box, click OK.
    There are two outcomes when you activate.
    • A new account is created, and the entitlement is activated for this account.
    • The user who has activated becomes the administrator of this account.
  4. (Conditional) If you already have an account (trial or licensed) and want to add capacity or renew, click Add To Account.
    A list of accounts opens.
    1. In the list of assigned accounts, select the account where you want to add the entitlement.
    2. Click Activate against that account.
    3. In the Confirm Activation dialog box, click OK.

      Additional entitlement is added to this account.

    NOTE: When you confirm the activation, you cannot withdraw the entitlement from the account.
