Report management

On the Reports page of the Cloud Snapshot Manager portal, you can generate reports under the following categories:

  • Ad hoc - You can generate a report using custom filters and also download the report. Reports can be generated for various jobs that are run by Cloud Snapshot Manager.
  • Scheduled - You can schedule reports to be generated daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly at a set time and send to configured email recipients.

The following report types are available under the categories:

  • Unprotected Resources - Lists unprotected resources at that point in time when the report is generated. This report type is available only under the Scheduled option.
  • On-demand Snapshot - Lists On-demand snapshot jobs that are run during a specific time period and the status of the snapshot jobs
  • Restore - Lists the restore operation status of resources
  • Plan Run Detailed - Lists the details of the protection plan runs including the individual resource details for the selected cloud accounts and the plan names
  • Expiry - Lists the expiration status of resources set to expire during a specific time period
  • CSM Snapshot Details - Lists details of all snapshots that are generated by Cloud Snapshot Manager. The report includes all On-demand snapshots, snapshots that are generated as part of a protection plan, and public API-generated snapshots
  • Non-CSM Snapshot Details - Lists details of snapshots which are not generated by Cloud Snapshot Manager(Non-CSM snapshots)
  • Snapshot Summary - Lists the total number of snapshots for different resources. This report gives you an insight into the total CSM and Non-CSM snapshot counts and storage used across every cloud account. For CSM snapshots, the report also provides snapshot counts by each resource type.

The report enables you to gain an understanding on how the protection storage is consumed across your entire cloud environment so that you can manage snapshot sprawl and costs better.

NOTE: Some of the report types are available only for AWS resources.

To generate a report, click New Report, select Ad hoc or Scheduled based on the report type that you want to generate, and specify relevant details. If the generated report is an Ad hoc report, it is displayed in the Reports page under Latest Ad hoc Reports. If you have scheduled a report, the report schedule is displayed in the Reports page under Report Schedules.

You can also edit and delete a report schedule. The edit operation for a report schedule enables you to change the attributes of the report schedule but not the type of the report.
