Azure account management

You can create Microsoft Azure cloud accounts using custom roles and assign the following details to the Cloud Snapshot Manager cloud account:

• Subscription ID
• Active Directory ID
• Application ID
• Authentication Key (Client secret)

For the Azure custom role to work correctly, each subscription to be accessed must be in the AssignableScopes section of the custom role.

Azure storage account

Azure storage account is required for cross-region copying of snapshots in CSM. Storage accounts are created in the Azure portal for each region that you want to copy snapshots to. For information on assigning a storage account to a region in CSM, see Configure Azure snapshot storage settings. A storage account is also required when restoring cross-region snapshots if you want to store diagnostic reports.
