Create a role

In Cloud Snapshot Manager, as part of providing role based access control, roles have to be created. Roles are used to grant permissions for different actions a user can perform in CSM.

About this task

Depending on your organization's requirements, you can create roles with different sets of privileges. The privileges can be actions such as to view resources, to take on-demand snapshots, to view jobs, and to generate reports. You can have any number of roles in Cloud Snapshot Manager and every role can have multiple privileges that are assigned to it.

By default, a Super Admin role with full access is available for every tenant which is not editable.

Steps

  1. In the left navigation pane of the Cloud Snapshot Manager portal, under Identity and Access, select Roles, and click New Role.
  2. Specify a name and provide a description.
  3. Select privileges that you want to assign to this role.
  4. Click Save.
    You can delete a role only if it is not associated with any RBAC policy.
