Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition (DDVE) enables you to leverage the power of DDVE to retain AWS snapshot copies (backup copies) for a long period with high level of deduplication.

Amazon charges a monthly fee based on the amount and types of data transferred by Cloud Snapshot Manager and PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition in AWS cloud. Amazon also charges for the usage of EBS direct APIs and for running AWS Fargate Container.

Consider the following information when planning your AWS architecture:

Most of the data that is transferred in AWS cloud occurs between CSM Proxy and DDVE.
Amazon does not have data-transfer fees for hosts that are in the same availability zone (AZ).

NOTE: If you minimize the path that data transfers take by using as few availability zones and regions as possible, then you will minimize data-transfer costs.
