The following table provides information about names and terms used for Cloud Snapshot Manager integration with DDVE:

| CSM Proxy | CSM Proxy is a Compute instance spawned to transfer data to and from DDVE. For more information, see CSM Proxy (AWS). |
| Storage Unit | Storage unit is like a volume or partition on DDVE. Cloud Snapshot Manager stores copies of the snapshots in these storage units as specified in the protection plan. |
| VPC (AWS) | Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is a virtual network space that you can define and control. |
| Availability Zone | They are distinct locations within an AWS region designed to be isolated from failures in other availability zones. |
